Thinking back to his childhood, David Nissen, Au.D., remembers how difficult it was for his grandfather to carry on a conversation due to his hearing loss.  “He had a whole drawer full of hearing aids that just didn’t work for him,” Dr. Nissen says.

That experience motivated him to pursue a career in audiology so that he could help others hear their best. “Today, we can do so much to help our patients with their communication difficulties. I wish the technology we have now had been available then.”

Dr. Nissen is a senior audiologist with Associated Audiologists, Inc. He is committed to the practice’s focus on excellence and enjoys the opportunity to establish long-term relationships with his patients.

“It is important to work with each patient to determine their individual needs based on their lifestyle and hearing loss,” Dr. Nissen says. “There are many options for combining hearing aids and hearing assistive technology. Together, we can select the best option.”

Dr. Nissen has practiced in the Prairie Village office of Associated Audiologists for more than 10 years.

Dr. Nissen lives in Belton, Missouri, and enjoys spending time with his wife, Eve, who is a high school counselor, and their two children, Derek and Liam. His hobbies include photography and working with computers.
