Laura Flowers, Au.D., F.A.A.A.

Laura Flowers, Au.D., F.A.A.A., an audiologist with Associated Audiologists, Inc., specializes in treating
patients with tinnitus, a common and frustrating condition. Patients often describe tinnitus as a constant ringing, buzzing or roaring sound.

“Many of these patients have been told there is nothing they can do for their tinnitus, that they must learn to live with it. Fortunately, that is not the case,” Dr. Flowers says. She is a trained provider of a successful treatment for tinnitus, the Neuromonics Tinnitus Treatment. This therapy uses modified music to stimulate the brain to filter out the tinnitus sound in order to reduce the effect and disturbance of the tinnitus.

Dr. Flowers practices at Associated Audiologists’ office on the campus of Shawnee Mission Medical Center, where she uses her expertise to treat patients with tinnitus and other hearing-related disorders. “My goal is to meet the unique needs of each individual patient and to build lasting relationships. This patient-centered approach helps us work together to find the best treatment options, no matter what the problem.”

Dr. Flowers is originally from Wichita, Kansas. She lived in St. Louis, Missouri for six years before moving to the Kansas City area. While in St. Louis, she served as a clinical audiologist with Washington University School of Medicine, where she provided diagnostic audiological and hearing aid services and supervised doctoral audiology students. She and her husband, Joe, have two children and now live in Olathe. In her time off, she enjoys spending time with her family.
