Lessons from 40 years Part 2: Cutting through the noise to offer the best quality products and service

Associated Audiologists quality hearing products and services

40 years ago, the world was a bit quieter. There was no internet; smartphones and tablets were the stuff of sci-fi shows; and the only notifications we received were in the mail or by a telephone call.

Today, we live in a noisy world — full of not just sounds, but also thousands of pieces of information that bombard us every day. For every product or service we might need (and many we don’t!), there are often so many choices that it’s hard to figure out which one is right for us.

As the world has changed over the past 40 years, Associated Audiologists has worked to cut through the noise to what is most important: providing the highest-quality audiology care and hearing support for each patient.

“We have always prioritized our patients’ needs above everything else,” said Tim Steele, PhD, President and CEO of Associated Audiologists, Inc. “For me, that means making sure each patient feels welcomed, heard and supported throughout their encounters with us, and providing the highest quality products and services available.”

Our team members are a huge part of providing top-notch care. From the friendly faces who greet you at the front desk to the doctoral-level audiologists who provide hands-on care, having great people on our team is vital to our ongoing success.

Changing with the times

Another part of maintaining our high standards has been keeping our ear to the ground (so to speak) as new technologies and best practices come on the scene. For example, hearing aid technology and accessories have changed drastically from 1985 to today.

Many of the inventions that have revolutionized our lives in other ways, such as microprocessors and mobile phones, have helped hearing aids become much more sophisticated.

While we always have the latest hearing aid technology available — with knowledgeable team members to provide support — we will never pressure you into buying something new if what you have now is still working well for you. However, everyone deserves to know what new options are available to help you hear your best.

We’ve also grown our capacity to meet the need for quality hearing care in Kansas City and beyond. The practice has gradually expanded from just one audiologist (practice founder Jim Wise, PhD) to a team of 16 audiologists across 8 locations in Kansas and Missouri.

“We want to make sure that we’re serving folks who live in rural areas as well as those who are in the Kansas City area,” said Dr. Steele. “The newest addition to our audiology team, Molly Whiteley, AuD, is originally from Abilene, Kan. and is excited to be able to work full-time in our Manhattan clinic to serve that region.”

If you’re hearing a lot of “noise” about hearing aids, reach out to one of our doctoral-level audiologists to help you find the right fit for you. We’ve been committed to quality products and service for 40 years, and look forward to many more opportunities to serve you.
